Waiting for Snow
It would be lovely to have a good old-fashioned snow storm to celebrate Valentine’s Day around here, but so far this is all we’ve got:

There actually are a few flakes drifting down from above, but not enough to write home about (irony!). The weather service says there’s a 70% chance of snow today… “snow likely.” They’re being optimistic, I think. Around here, snow comes when and where it will.
Meanwhile, as I got up from the couch to take that picture, Rose, “the opportunist,” made her move:

Not content with the fuzzy blanket that I graciously share with her, she took my spot. “Carpe Cushion” is her motto. She pretended to not hear me when I told her she had to move, but I could see her right ear taking it all in. She didn’t move.
So, for now, after forcibly removing Rose to an alternate sleeping spot, I wait patiently with a cup of coffee, two cats, and Joe, who is reading the paper and occasionally throws a bit of weird news my way: Astronomers in San Jose debate “Would aliens want peace?” Crikey.
Samson waits with me.

And sometimes, patience is rewarded!

I run to the kitchen to grab a fresh cup of coffee, looking forward to watching the snowy wonderland developing outside. And on my return…

**Sigh**
